2013 BMW K1300S Motorcycle Insurance Information, Review, specifications

Gambar Motor
2013 BMW K1300S

The interceptor. The athlete. Aerodynamic, avant-garde. Do you know of another sporty bike with this profile? A bike that develops such pulling power with 175 bhp that it take the heat out of many a 200 bhp bike? But a bike you can still take out on a quick trip simply because it has great everyday suitability? At the same time a technological treat?

The reasons: 140 Nm from 1,293 cc – and at 8,250 rpm too. With a throaty sound from a cool, hexagonal tube. With catalytic converter and exhaust valve. And with fuel consumption and exhaust emission values which would suit many a machine with half the dynamic performance.

2013 BMW K1300S Review

With this jet, the whole concept of speed moves into a new dimension. This in-line 4-cylinder delivers its power in such a way that you can almost feel it when standing still. That’s because within the engine speed ranges in which you move more than 80% of the time – i.e. the lower and medium speed ranges – it delivers performance from the first yard. The real thing. And in terms of safety features, this machine is unique: ABS as standard with ASC and ESA optional. And the extras are amazing: race through the gears with the automatic shift function, pure racing in view with the 2D dashboard.

Extreme power. Thrilling acceleration. Instant responses across the rev range. Welcome to the ultimate sports tourer - the new BMW K 1300 S.

Gambar Motor 2013 BMW K1300S - 3Its styling alone promises speed and performance. And with an output of 175hp and 140Nm of torque, speed and performance is exactly what you get. Your heart races with the engine all the way up to 11,000 rpm. And yet you remain completely calm, thanks to a highly practical design, outstanding safety features and a chassis that is a marvel of precision engineering. If you want to be the best, there's no room for half measures.

The designers of the BMW K 1300 S were very clear about their aims: even more power, even more performance. The result is a machine that combines the excitement of a track bike with the practical features needed for long-distance riding on the road, such as the famous BMW Motorrad Duolever and BMW Motorrad ABS.

The K 1300 S is also available with ESA II Electronic Suspension Adjustment as an option, allowing you to modify the suspension set-up depending on the load you are carrying.

The BMW K1300S: supreme power with the sportiest of understatement. Why not try it out right away!

The 2013 the BMW K 1300 S is available in the following new paint finish:

• Sapphire black metallic/Dark graphite metallic. The paint finish Magma red/Sapphire black metallic is no longer available.

2013 BMW F800R Review

With this much fun, the standard ABS is welcome too, as are other features such as hot accessories and intelligent luggage solutions.

And finally: it’s a BMW – and a pretty cool one, too.

Gambar Motor 2013 BMW F800R - 2It's definitely the hottest generation of roadsters since the BMW K1300R. Dominance from the very first yard - a perfect combination of pure riding fun and excellent suitability for everyday use.

After its model revision, the F800R is just as sexy as it was before - and the 798 cc 2-cylinder engine is as punchy as ever. The masculine design and minimalist lines offer highly attractive purism.

The new radiator side trim, white turn indicators and a wheel cover in the respective body colour turn the roadster into a bike that everyone loves to ride. The new sports windshield - also in body colour - highlights the bike's purist look.

The familiar, highly economical parallel twin continues to offer superb enjoyment. 86 Nm of torque is an outstanding figure in this class of motorcycle, as is 87 bhp.

In particular because this power is available across a perfectly linear engine speed range - in other words ridability and riding fun across the board; here the BMW F800R offers a breadth of performance which pleases experienced riders just as it does beginners.

Weighing in at just 177 kg with ergonomics which provide a perfect fit for everyone, a clean, crisp suspension and perfectly balanced geometry: the new F800R embodies uncompromising style that everyone loves to ride.

The new F 800 R is radically different, and yet every inch a BMW. The state-of-the-art parallel twin engine with electronic fuel injection develops 87hp from its 798cc, not to mention a mighty 86Nm of torque. And with the deep, throaty exhaust tone, its sound is every bit as impressive as it performs.

The 320-millimetre Brembo double disk brake at the front ensures maximum stopping power, while BMW Motorrad ABS and optional TPC Tyre Pressure Control further enhance safety. The lightweight, rigid aluminium frame and dynamically styled double swing-arm, means the bike is also extremely manoeuvrable. The astonishing dry weight of just 177 kilograms make it an agile motorcycle with incredibly precise handling.

Need proof that this bike is as manageable, balanced and lightweight as we claim it is? Why not check out what stunt rider Mattie Griffin can do on his bike of choice?

2013 BMW R1200GS Review

But the GS was and still is much more than this. Whether sports-style cornering on winding country roads, excellent travel times due to high motorway speeds, relaxed tours with a passenger or daring rides over rough terrain - every GS has offered supreme mastery of these skills in its respective era and this won’t change with the new version.

Gambar Motor 2013 BMW R1200GS 1It is the unique integrated concept of the big travel enduro bike with boxer engine, complete with authentic charm and a powerful, high-torque engine, which is loved by legions of motorcycle fans all over the world to this day. It is not for nothing that the “big BMW GS” with boxer engine has been the undisputed frontrunner in its market segment for many years and is the best-seller within the BMW Motorrad model range. BMW is now beginning a whole new chapter in GS history: the most popular travel enduro in the world has been brought to perfection.

The challenge: how to improve even more following nine years at the top.

Even in its ninth year of production, the current BMW R 1200 GS is still setting the benchmark in its segment in comparative tests with its outstanding overall concept and innovative technology. With over 170,000 units sold, it is the most successful and top-selling travel enduro in the world.

So the challenge facing the BMW Motorrad development department was considerable: to further optimise the GS - an icon of three decades - improve it in all areas and equip it with innovative technical solutions to ensure it is in good shape for the future.

2013 BMW R1200GS Features and Benefits

The development goals of the new BMW R 1200 GS:

• Further increase performance overall - without neglecting its well-established virtues.
• Perfect its touring suitability.
• Increase off-road suitability.
• Achieve superior figures within the travel enduro segment and beyond in terms of engine and riding performance.
• Ensure preparation for the future in terms of noise and exhaust emissions.
• Suspension with top handling, optimum traction and increased off-road performance.
• Increase active and passive safety.
• Unmistakable BMW Motorrad design in typical GS style.
• Top quality as is characteristic of BMW Motorrad.

Newly designed air/water-cooled boxer engine with vertical through-flow, integrated gearbox and left-hand cardan shaft drive.

Geared towards the above goals, the entire R 1200 GS was completely redefined, particularly the drive concept.

The performance aspired to, as well as adherence to future anticipated requirements in terms of noise and exhaust emissions, is ensured among other things by a change in the cooling system. The boxer engine in the new R 1200 GS continues to use air/liquid cooling, however, the coolant oil has been replaced by a glycol-water mixture. This ensures a high level of heat absorption capacity of the cooling liquid for more efficient heat dissipation.

So-called precision cooling (a principle similar to that used in Formula 1) involves only those engine elements being cooled with coolant, which are particularly exposed to thermal stress. The engine still continues to use air cooling, thereby preserving the characteristic appearance of the opposed twin boxer engine. The two radiators are small and inconspicuously integrated.

The through-flow is now vertical instead of horizontal for improved filling, and the engine housing integrates the 6-speed gearbox as well as a wet clutch with anti-hopping function instead of the dry clutch as was used previously. What is more, the secondary drive now runs via the well-established cardan shaft on the left-hand side. With an output of 92 kW (125 bhp) at 7700 rpm and 125 Nm at 6500 rpm, the new engine offers superior power and performance in the travel enduro segment and beyond.

The empty weight (ready for the road) according to DIN of the R 1200 GS is 238 kg including standard BMW Motorrad Integral ABS.

E-gas and cruise control.

An electromotive throttle actuator is now used for the first time in a GS motorcycle. Here, rider commands are passed on directly by the sensor in the accelerator twist grip to the engine control system; this then regulates the throttle valve electronically. The use of the E-gas system provides a significant improvement in terms of controllability and response. What is more, the rider can adapt engine characteristics to the situation on the road by means of five modes (optional extra). It was also possible to include an electronic cruise control function (optional extra).

ASC and riding modes as an optional extra: five freely selectable modes - “Rain”, “Road”, “Dynamic”, “Enduro” and “Enduro Pro”.

For optimum adaptation to the rider’s individual needs and purpose, the new R 1200 GS now offers five freely selectable riding modes for the first time: these are an ex works option and feature three different E-gas settings and with varying engine characteristics. Linked to this is Automatic Stability Control ASC with a special enduro configuration. If this option is chosen, BMW Motorrad ABS, ASC and - if installed - the semiactive suspension are all adapted to the respectiveprofiles of these five modes

Semiactive suspension: BMW Motorrad Dynamic ESA for optimum riding dynamics in every situation as an ex works option.

The new semiactive suspension BMW Motorrad Dynamic ESA (Electronic Suspension Adjustment) taps into a whole new range of possibilities as well as providing maximum riding safety and performance. Dynamic ESA monitors the vertical movement of front and rear wheel control as well as other parameters by means of a spring travel sensor in each position, and adapts the damping automatically to the situation depending on riding conditions and the manoeuvres being carried out. Damping adjustment at front and rear is effected by means of electrically controlled regulation valves.

New chassis with tubular steel bridge frame and specially adapted wheel/tyre dimensions of 120/70 R19 at front and 170/60 R17 at rear as a world first.

The chassis of the R 1200 GS uses a completely newly developed tubular all-steel bridge frame with a bolt-on rear frame. Along with the newly designed Telelever at the front and the EVO Paralever at the rear, this has resulted in a further significant increase in torsional stiffness and hence ride stability and steering precision. Optimised handling qualities are the result of refined master geometric chassis data, and a longer swingarm provides further improved traction - especially when riding over rough terrain.

A globally unique feature of the new R 1200 GS are the tyres in the sizes 120/70 R19 at the front and 170/60 R17 at the rear, specially adapted to improve performance.

Revised brake system with radially mounted Brembo Monobloc brake calipers and BMW Motorrad Integral ABS as standard.

The brake system of the R 1200 GS has been extensively revised, too. There are now radially mounted Brembo Monobloc brake calipers at the front and a larger brake disc at the rear.

In line with the BMW Motorrad principle “Safety 360°” the new GS is also fitted as standard with the BMW Motorrad ABS, here in the part integral version.

The first motorcycle in the world with LED main headlight including integrated daytime running light for even greater safety when riding during the day and at night as an ex works option.

Even in its standard trim the new R 1200 GS has a main headlight with optimised light efficiency. In order to be seen even better during the day, BMW Motorrad also offers a daytime running light as an ex works option. For excellent road illumination and therefore even greater safety both day and night, an LED main headlight with integrated daytime running light is fitted in a motorcycle for the first time ever. It comprises innovative LED technology with a sophisticated cooling and decondensation concept.

Electrical system with new vehicle power supply and Multi-Controller for the BMW Motorrad Navigator IV.

The new R 1200 GS has the innovative new vehicle power system with altered function partitioning as already used in the 6-cylinder models K 1600 GT and GTL. As before, CAN bus (Controller Area Network) and LIN bus technology (Local Interconnect Network) enables significantly reduced wiring as compared to a conventional system. The previous central vehicle electronics has been partitioned into two separate control units.

The Multi-Controller, newly available for the GS, allows fast and convenient operation of the BMW Motorrad Navigator IV. It is located on the inside of the handlebar grip. This means that selecting functions is much less distracting than pressing buttons and does not require hands to be removed from the handlebars.

Aerodynamically optimised windshield with one-hand operation and optimum ergonomics.

The newly developed windshield of the R 1200 GS offers further improved wind and weather protection while also reducing wind noise. Adjustment is simple: an easily accessible and ergonomically optimised selection wheel is operated using one hand.

The new R 1200 GS has extended adjustment options for optimum seating comfort. The rider’s seat can now be adjusted in height and tilt angle and the passenger seat can be shifted longitudinally to obtain the ideal distance between rider and passenger. The new handlebars can easily be turned upwards and, together with the optimised knee grip in the fuel tank area, they ensure an even better standing position for off-road riding. The improved knee grip can be clearly felt when seated, too. A high and a low seat, as well as an adjustable footrest system and adjustable foot controls, round off the program of special accessories offering individual adjustment facilities.

2013 Husaberg FE350 Review

A Swedish enduro machine runs more precisely than a Swiss watch. And precisely this is reflected in the performance of the 2013 Husaberg FE350. Thanks to compact engine dimensions and reduced rotating masses, the FE 350 impresses with its playful handling. The longer the ride goes on, the more riders benefit from the combination of spontaneous engine characteristics, low weight and pure ridability - no matter whether they're a pro or a beginner.

Husaberg is PURE ENDURO.

Husaberg presents a fully revised model generation which, through the addition of another model, now offers at least one 2-stroke and one 4-stroke model in every competition class.

With the completely new and extended model generation, Husaberg has truly arrived as a full-range manufacturer of enduro bikes. Husaberg is the only brand that solely focuses on Enduro, which is also clearly indicated by the new brand claim "PURE ENDURO".

This clear focus on enduro ensures that every singe detail of the new models is designed for maximum rideability for Enduro competition, as well as for offroad adventures out in the wild.

2013 Husaberg FE350 Features and Benefits

The Chassis

From the new frame and the second generation of the polyamide subframe to the new bodywork and new WP closed-cartridge fork with patented 4-chamber technology, no stone remains unturned when it comes to the chassis.

The new double-cradle central tube frame made from lightweight chrome-molybdenum steel profiles impresses with high torsional stiffness for precise cornering characteristics and high tracking stability and, at the same time, supports the rear suspension by absorbing energy created by rear wheel impacts thanks to decreased longitudinal stiffness.

The new subframe, made from fiberglass-reinforced polyamide, now also used on the 2-stroke models, consists of three elements connected by bolts. This new construction ensures highest durability at minimal weight. In addition to the integration of numerous electrical components, the second generation of the polyamide subframe also has optimally positioned handles - that are perfectly protected from dirt - for easy manoeuvring of the bike under difficult conditions.

Ergonomics is everything when it comes to enduro riding. Thus, the new bikes boast a very slender seat and tank spoiler profile. The bodywork acts as an excellent point of contact between rider and machine and gives the new generation a unique, modern look.

With the new 4CS closed-cartridge fork from WP Suspension, Husaberg continues to claim their leadership when it comes to the quality of suspension and premium equipment. The new, patented 4-chamber technology ensures ultimate responsiveness and constant damping over the full suspension travel at a lower weight when compared to conventional closed-cartridge systems. In addition, the end-progression of the damping can be separately adjusted. The new fork also impresses with its user-friendliness because rebound as well as compression damping can be adjusted at the upper end of the fork legs.

Naturally, also all other components have been modified and further developed. Here's a brief extract:

- Each model has its own individually tuned and 7 mm longer WP PDS shock absorber for greater progression and better bottoming resistance
- Cooling system with fan as standard for all 4-stroke models
- High-quality aluminium silencers in accordance with the new FIM regulations (112 dB [A] at 2 metres max.)
- Approx. 200 gram lighter wheels due to new aluminium spoke nipples
- Modified triple clamp offset for the TE 250 and TE 300 models (20 mm instead of 22 mm) for even better cornering stability
- New, approx. 300 gram lighter swingarm, with new pivot point for the shock absorber (5 mm closer to the centre). Higher side profiles and optimised flexibility perfectly support the damping characteristics of the shock absorber and frame.
- New airbox with optimised airflow; access and replacement of air filter remains possible within shortest time without using tools.
- Transparent fuel tanks with increased capacity for the 4-stroke models (9.5 litres)
- High-end brakes from Brembo, still the reference for offroad use
- Plastic skid plate and handguards as standard for all models; the lower front part of the subframe acts as a frame protector.

The Engines

All Husaberg engines, except for the unit of the TE 125, are equipped with reliable electric starters, which makes starting in tricky situations extremely easy. Furthermore, the 2-stroke TE 250 and TE 300 models also come with a kickstarter fitted as standard. Due to the exclusively positive experience with the previous generation of engines, the new 4-stroke models are supplied as standard without kickstarter, in order to maintain the overall weight as low as possible. However, the new 4-stroke machines provide the customer with the option to retrofit a kickstarter as required. A corresponding retrofit kit is available in the PURE TECH range of accessories.

The FE 250 and FE 350 are powered by extremely compact DOHC units, which distinguish themselves by their free-revving nature and smooth power delivery. As their bigger brothers, they are equipped with a Keihin fuel injection system with a 42 mm throttle body and integrated temperature and altitude compensation. The injection is, of course, individually set up for each displacement and, using the mapping switch from the PURE TECH range of accessories, provides the option to adjust the motor characteristics to the rider's individual requirements.

The engine cases for the new 450/501 engine generation are manufactured - as they are on the FE 350 - using a high-pressure die casting process, resulting in significantly reduced wall thicknesses but with the same stability. Thus, together with the weight savings on the piston, connecting rod and balancer shaft, the weight of the engine could be reduced by a whole 2 kg. Due to this significant reduction in the rotating masses, the handling advantage of the previous 70° engine layout was able to be more than compensated for, and a conventional engine layout once again used, which also provides the following additional advantages:

- more compact engine allows a more compact overall layout of the bike
- simplified routing of the header pipe eliminates undesired heat input onto the tank and airbox
- bigger airbox capacity
- reduced intake noise
- lower centre of gravity of the engine and bike

An overview of further improvements to the engines:

- New, robust, approx. 250 gram lighter clutch with wear-free steel cage, integrated damping for less transmission wear and a new pre-load mechanism for easiest operation thanks to a diaphragm spring (FE 350/450/501, TE 250/300).
- Significant reduction in the vibrations of the 4-stroke engines due to lower oscillating masses
- Optimised oil circuit with two oil pumps for the 4-stroke engines
- An oil-cooled alternator with a capacity of 196 W provides a reliable power supply for the injection of the 4-stroke engines, as well as for the other electrical components.
- Optimised cylinder heads, specially adapted for each displacement version, with titanium valves (FE 450/501: outlet valves made from steel)
- New V-Force 4 reed valve block (TE 250/300) for smoother power delivery
- Performance enhancement for the 2-stroke engines on account of the optimised intake snorkel combined with the new airbox
